Musical Fidelity M6i integrated

I looked around for posts regarding MF's new integrated with USB inputs. My favorite local dealer will have this unit soon. Any thoughts on the quality of the DAC? Jitter?

I've no specific details, but I would suspect thatthe USB input on the M6 integrated is mre a convenience feature than a full spec DAC. Certainly this was the case with the A1 and A5.5 (though not the A1008 which was a full featured DAC).

 

Without any demoing, I would suspectthat something like the MF V-DAC would be higher quality than the M6i USB. Musical Fidelty are branding their CD player with DAC functionality for higher end use.

The DAC specs: DAC circuit 24 bit Delta-Sigma (bit stream) dual differential 8x over-sampling Total correlated jitter

Delta sigma can describe a whole host of DAC chips ... as I say my gut feeling is the USB input is only a convenience feature ... but I could be pleasantly surprised - only way to know is with a demo.
