I had a lot of fun with this thread. Personally I have stepped back now, or rather resigned. I couldn't find back to the fun. Everything became just a little bit too serious. The name of game for me was to explore the unexplored without having to explain myself. Just finding new ways to improve SQ and share it with others to explore further. Not serious. No science. Just fun. I got sick of the constant negative input from a people that think they know it all and left it all for another hobby of mine. I am now all into photography and haven't improved much on my audio side. I'm quite happy where I'm at in the audio world but have much more to improve and explore in the visual world. All the best! Glad to hear from you @Cornan! If you ever start audio experiments, do come back. Chris has instituted some changes that have reduced the negativity and snark, and moved it to its own separate forum. Hope to see you on AS again at some point. All the best, Rajiv Middy, Cornan and AnotherSpin 1 2 My Audio Setup Link to comment
Popular Post Cornan
Thank you @Superdad, @Middy and @austinpop! Great to hear from you guys! 😊 It is not impossible I will find my way back here, but right now I do not even have the time since photography and listen to and explore new music takes up pretty much all my own free time at the moment. I run an Instagram page with focus on pictures and music. It is called cornan_creative_snaps. Nothing serious. Just fun. You are welcome to pop-in there if you want. Take care and keep away from Corona. Middy, austinpop, ingemar and 2 others 2 3 🎛️ Audio System Link to comment

Popular Post Middy
Yes, the easy answer is we tried it as it was a hunch from a real engineer. Like trying quad core wire with its innate electrical common mode filtering as twisted pairs. It gave a lot of us a dive into areas a non EE have always taken for granted and gave people soldering skills and another fun aspect of this hobby. Has it been tested by MIT and peer reviewed. No. Does it hold true i dont know, as the genie is out the bottle..if its nothing than a few guys adding extra shielding to a cable, the journey was the reward not the outcome.Thats what the real benefit was. This was a non EE thread just trying things for fun and learning. Even if the learning was, it doesnt work as planned. ASR get an Ivory tower to smash down and then they have fun doing that also waggling thier shields of truth. So everyone's a winner. Again you have won as you read around learning to find out what the best and cheapest way to do things. Following advice from trained electrical engineers who have a unique way of saying no its incorrect to standard electrical practice. This wasn't an ocean's 11 con job just a hunch that caught on and got people trying new things. Cheap fun and got people talking. No snark intended from me, as all this is whats left of the 'fun do what you like' on a shoe string experiments. ASR is Audio electrical Wikipedia with free sarcasm in the notes. Questioning everything is the right thing, stopping people being ripped off..fantastic. Metaphorically kicking people in the nuts and basically belittling them. Not the best way to spread good practice. Jump on the objectifi thread if you want some professional feed back the new Mecca for the electrical intelligencia and professionals. Who know Ohms law from Hounds of the Baskervilles. If theres half the audio companys, shops and people to buy it in 6 months a bit of copper braiding doesnt mean much in the grand scheme.... Good luck and stay safe Dave MikeyFresh, Superdad and RickyV 1 2 Link to comment

Chris has made some changes that have helped and some who have insisted on continually baiting others have moved on to the "Objectivist" forum where all of the answers are being kept. Popular Post charlesphoto
The whole back and forth between the 'subjectivists' and 'objectivists' always seemed incredibly petty to me (esp those trying to 'save' us from 'snake oil') and never more so than now considering world events. It's just immaterial 'stuff' that brings curiosity and joy.
