Asus Rt-AC68u bridge

Recommended Posts

I have my NAS, desktop, cable modem and a Asus 68U router up stairs. My stereo is down stairs and I purchased a Lumin D1 with sbooster power supply. The D1 will be here this week. Up until then I was using a laptop wireless to the nas with jriver. Because the Lumin does not have wifi, I need to put Ethernet into the downstairs den where the stereo is.

I picked up a second Asus 68u and would like to maybe use it like a media bridge or range extender going wifi to Ethernet. The only thing that will connected to it will be the lumin. Will this work or do I need to return the asus 68u and go for an Orbi? One of the reasons I went with a second 68u is the one I have up stairs is about 2 years old and it has been solid and fast.

Thanks all all for the help.

Agree it should work well... as long as he doesn't have very thick walls, my Asus doesn't penetrate as far as they claim, so I ran a 50m CAT6 through the loft to join a switch to mine.

Give it a go and CAT6/7 them together if you need to, it's good to have a wider wifi spread in any case.

Just set it up as a wireless bridge and it should work seamlessly.
