Prism Sound presents the Callia DAC at CES and hosts seminar on mastering with a world class musician and engineer

CES, Venetian Tower - Suite 29-223

UK based Prism Sound, world leaders in professional digital to analogue converters, is bringing its Callia hi-fi DAC to CES, showing visitors how domestic digital audio can sound just as good as it does in the studio. On 5 th January the company will also be presenting a seminar session on the art of mastering, with special guest and Grammy nominated mastering engineer, Eric Boulanger.

Callia, the PCM and DSD capable DAC, pre-amplifier and headphone amp, which is receiving critical acclaim from respected hi-fi reviewers and end-users, brings studio quality sound into the home environment for the very best in digital music reproduction. Its high quality DAC circuits are identical to the ones found in the company’s professional Lyra, Titan and Atlas converters, products found in many of the world’s leading recording studios. Callia enables listeners at home to enjoy their music from a DAC designed by the same team as products that the world’s top artistes, engineers and producers rely upon.

Joining Prism in the Venetian Hotel Suite will be acclaimed British loudspeaker manufacturer ATC, whose SCM50A speakers will be used in the playback system. Room treatment will be provided by GIK Acoustics, another company whose products crossover from the professional to domestic environments.

On Thursday 5 th January, providing an insight into the world of professional recording and mastering, will be the Grammy nominated mastering engineer and classically trained violinist, Eric Boulanger.

Founder of The Bakery Mastering and formerly at The Mastering Lab, accomplished professional studio violinist and accomplished engineer, Boulanger will be talking about his violin recordings, the mastering process and cutting vinyl. Boulanger is a rare music professional, whose exceptional talents regularly take him from the studio to the stage. He has mastered multiple Grammy-winning and nominated projects and was behind the number one, and platinum certified, “Fight Song”*from*Rachel Platten.

A renowned musician in his own right, Boulanger’s violin studies were under the tutelage of*Oscar Ravina, a veteran of the New York Philharmonic Orchestra. He also studied under*Alexander Markov, the acclaimed soloist and recipient of the Avery Fisher Career Grant. Eric’s performances and recordings range from orchestral and chamber music, Broadway musicals, contemporary pop to film and television scores.

Graham Boswell, sales and marketing director, says, “We are delighted to be presenting not only the Callia DAC, but the hugely talented and experienced Eric Boulanger at CES. Together with our partners from ATC and GIK Acoustics, we will be demonstrating just how good digital audio can sound in the home, when using domestic digital electronics with a studio pedigree.” He continues, “Having Eric join us will be a real treat for the music fans and those interested in the engineering process that goes into making the music we love. He’s long been a user of Prism DACs and will be sharing his in-depth knowledge with the visitors to our suite. It’s one not to be missed.”

Visitors will be able to experience Callia in the Prism Sound room, Venetian Tower - Suite 29-223 at CES, Las Vegas, from 5 th to 8 th January 2017.
