damguz
Nuprime Dac-9 is a very good choice. Albeit positioned as the "warmest" of the line, it is not warm at all. It is just a subtle difference with the Dac 10 and the IDA-8. Nothing like the Cambridge Pure Dac +. Sent from my iPad using Computer Audiophile Link to comment
Nick-V
If you're looking for something that doesn't break the bank, you might want to consider the Cambridge DacMagic +. I picked one up for cheap ($250) barely used and I'm very happy with it in my bedroom system. I use the balanced outputs directly into a pair of Tannoy Reveal 501a active studio monitors and the unbalanced outputs into my Earthquake SUB-80X subwoofer. For the price, I couldn't be happier with it's performance. There is no remote and the volume control isn't the most precise, but you can't go wrong for the price. Link to comment
nhtran1
Looking for a DAC with similar criteria myself. Considering these 3 DACs: https://www.oppodigital.com/sonica-dac/ Matrix Audio Quattro II DAC / Pre / Amp https://www.shenzhenaudio.com/gustard-dac-x20-pro-super-ultimate-2-x-es9028-xmos-hifi-dac-384khz-dsd-dop-decoder.html Waiting for the release of the Sonica DAC before I pull the trigger. xyrium
Looks like some nice choices, though I'm unfamiliar with anything in the list other than the Oppo. I owned the HA-1 and it was quite a nice piece of gear. It's accuracy was unquestionable, though I prefer a more coloured sound given the variety of music and recordings that I listen to. So, out went accuracy, and in went a Teac UD301 and Nuprime DAC9. Regardless, that new Oppo looks nice, and would probably be my first choice, especially at that price. Ric Schultz
The Sonica is now released. I will be doing mods on this baby and even my relatively inexpensive $250 mod will make the sound significantly better (as in Wow!). First one to send me one to mod will get any level of mod for $100 plus my parts cost. Link to comment
