Foam

I just bought a sub that is ripping holes in my walls and pissing off my room mates.

How effective would sound blocking foam be against a big sub?

Also, any tips on where to put it are welcome. It's under a table so I'd probably start by getting the sub off the floor and onto a nice thick piece of foam, and then putting some foam under the table, right?

yes, put it on the foam and then ask them if it's better (it won't make a huge difference but the sight may act as a placebo effect for them and will make them think you are responsive to their concerns)

how long until the lease runs out?

Got the tennis balls under there. It's up twice as loud and no complaints. Problem is I think it sounded better on the floor.

Put one or two 30lb, flat square stepping stones directly under the sub and on top the the tennis balls. Problem solved *if* the tennis balls do their job. Use lots of them under the stones if needed. Or use some thick foam layers instead of the tennis balls.

Each side is mounted vertically on 3-tiered Sound Anchor ADJ2 stands: ATC (top), amp (middle), sub (bottom), Mogami, Koala, Nordost, Mosaic cables, split at the preamp outputs with splitters. All transducers are thoroughly and lovingly time aligned for the listening position.
