My (very) mini review of the Singxer SU-1 DDC

I just bought a SU-1 off head-fi and will be pairing it with a microRendu and Yggy.

Congrats! I am curious how it will sound with the MR. So right now you go straight from MR to Yggy? The SU-1 will sit between the MR and Yggy? I am thinking about getting a MR.

 

Yes, MR to Yggy via USB. The SU-1 will sit between, so I'll be able to use AES from the SU-1 to the Yggy via a Transparent Reference cable.

tboooe, do you still feel the mids are flat after burn-in?

I just got my Singxer SU-1 and am not getting any sound with my microRendu into Yggy on AES. Any suggestions? The "play" light is on on the SU-1, but it seems like the Yggy isn't receiving a signal.

I connected the SU-1 directly to my PC and used the ASIO and still am not getting anything. I'm wondering if my AES input on my Yggy is defective.

Nevermind, I figured it out: the Yggy manual incorrectly lists the LED indicators. The last indicator on the right is AES, not the second from the left.

Alex and/or Tim, any follow up on the Singxer SU-1/ LPS-1 kit... Will it work at 7v, gonna happen, timing?

What I would like to know is whether a molded SU-1 is better than the new SOtM dx-USB Ultra. I've heard the tX-USB Ultra with sMS-200 Ultra and a modded switch, and the improvement was astounding.

You should check out the SOtM dX-USB Ultra.  It's probably better than the SU-1 and Mutec.  I'm getting one soon and will be able to evaluate it against my SU-1.

I've already heard the tX-USB Ultra in my system, and it blew away the SU-1.  Yes, I think the clocks are better.

I'm ordering a dX, but I heard the tX in my own system.  I think they're pretty much the same other than one is USB to USB and one is USB to AES/SPDIF/Optical.
