MKS
I was looking at the Beyerdynamic 880 Premiums, but I am sure there are better alternatives. I would like a nice sound stage for Counter Strike. I had the Sony MDR-7510s reccommended by another forum member, and I would be open to buying, but I would like multiple opinions. I listen mostly to k-pop, rap, and r&b. Anything ~200 USD and under would be fine. IEM recommendations would be fine too, as I am looking for on-the-go ear buds. Thanks for the response in advance! christopher3393
I haven't heard that Sony model, but they are closed back. I'd recommend the Sennheiser Game One. Link to comment
17629v2
For open back, over the hear headphones, there's not too many options for $200 and under. For the money, the 880's look pretty good. If you go on ear, then you have more options. For IEM's, you can't go wrong with the Shure 215's. A tablet or smartphone will have enough power to play them as loud as you could ever want. They only cost $100, so if you have $200 to spend, maybe go higher up in the Shure line. Link to comment
mordante
I use an Audio Technica ATH AD700 for gaming. I also bought a Beyerdynamic DT990 edition for my g/f for gaming. It has not arrived just yet. [br] Link to comment
maelob
The Fidelio X2 are really good they are over 200 new but you can probably find a used pair. Also worth checking the Hifiman he-400s. Link to comment
dubstenko
FWIW I use Beyerdynamic DT 770 (closed-back) for everything (music production, movies, gaming) and I LOVE them. Very full and warm, lots of detail. So I imagine a step up would be the semi-open DT 880. They come in just under your budget, at least on the 'zon. Link to comment
mordante
MY girlfriend is using the DT990 edition. She really like them a lot. I have not compared the Audio Technica to the Beyer yet. [br] Link to comment
