sphinxsix
Lee Ranaldo of Sonic Youth and Jello Biafra of Dead Kennedys appear as guest musicians on this album. Qobuz: The influence of North African music is viscerally present throughout the album: in its form, in Jaouad El Garouge’s mesmerising voice, in Mehdi Addab’s complex oud melodies, and in the female vocals provided by Alsarah and Hend Elrawy. The hypnotic and mystical power of Arab music is multiplied tenfold when combined with rock, never ceasing its search for its African roots. The previous band of Al-Qasar leader - Blaak Heat. Popular Post sphinxsix
Well, I must say, in my forties I bought the same guitar Marcus Miller used to play and even learnt to play it (there are better bassists though 😉), in my early fifties I migrated to the Netherlands and began a tabla course with AFAIK the best Dutch player and at the same time a great person - Heiko Dijker (unfortunately interrupted by Covid lockdowns), also a good friend of mine, a musician, composer, conductor (retired now) teaches me some music theory eg harmony. I addition I began recently a course of sound engineering and soon will be responsible for live sound during concerts in De-X (Qbus) music club and I must say that learning that from Gertjan Koning is for me a source of a great joy! Since the Qbus club repertoire is strongly connected with music we've been discussing here for the past 6 years, I will allow myself invite all world/world fusion music enthusiasts from the forum to visit it if they happen to be around 🙂 The program for this weekend 🙂: THIAGO NASSIF en LIQUID SUN ORCHESTRA on Saturday (here filmed at the Qbus club): And on Sunday - EDRA en MANDALA TRIBE in which Heiko Dijker (https://www.heikodijker.com/) mentioned by me above plays tabla. semente, orresearch, Jud and 1 other 2 1 1 Link to comment

I recently made a perfect spaghetti while listening to Dolapdere Big Gang's first album and having much more fun than usually during cooking.
