Quality USB3 PCIe card solutions?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone seen a quality USB 3 PCIE card? I'm using a generic card that allows me to supply 5v DC from an HDPLex but I hear cross talk randomly when I'm not playing music so suspect some RFI issues with the card design.

Paul Pang Audio, SOtM, JCat, Uptone Audio Regen, Audioquest Jitterbug, Intona, Schiit. They are all viable solutions. What you heard is correct. But why the focus on USB 3.0? Nothing in current or near future hi-fi requires such bandwith.

Synology DS214+ with MinimServer --> Ethernet --> Sonore mRendu / SOtM SMS-200 --> Chord Hugo --> Chord interconnects --> Naim NAP 200--> Chord speaker cable --> Focal Aria 948

My Synology DS214play NAS has been gathering dust ever since I tried a 32gb SDXC card in PC and Oppo103 as audio file drive. Transient information is greatly increased using low latency SDXC cards as file drives. Right now I have a 512gb Sandisk extreme pro as my audio file drive in a Plexar USB3 card reader and will likely buy their hub system to allow a stack up to 4x512 gb. Since this is a file drive solution, having high throughput is useful and clean power is always a good thing for reducing digital irritants.

OT but in regards to reducing digital irritants, did you ever try connecting your Oppo103 to your PC via ethernet, then connecting Oppo to your DAC? According to a guy on Headfi the Oppo makes a better digital interface than USB interfaces.
