Was Journey, Foreigner, etc Bad?

Recommended Posts

Styx may not have been:

as progressive as Led Zep, mad as Pink F, or fun as Deep P, AC DC and/or Metallica.

But 'Mr Roboto' was hilariously catchy,

And, one has it on good authority that ‘Babe' used to populate 80s dance floors. "Whenever only one blue laser was allowed to ‘tastefully’ shine on that inevitable dangling disco ball. Meanwhile, the smoke machine inspired couples to practise mouth-to-mouth resuscitation..."

Other hot and steamy dance floor numbers then:

‘Goodbye Girl’

‘Just When I Needed You Most’

‘It Must Have Been Love’,

‘The Power of Love’ (both versions),

'True’,

‘Casablanca’,

‘Arthur’s Theme’

‘Up Where We Belong'

…plus, apparently, just about any song by Air Supply and Barry Manilow (except maybe ‘Copacabana’).

Gee- can anyone play please? And are you sure there was anything at all slow in the 1980s? :)

Lionel Ritchie - _Hello_

and

Jennifer Warnes and Joe Cocker - _Up Where We Belong_

Yessir. Chances are, even Bo D and Jennifer B would 'fondly remember' them 2 numbers ⤴︎.

But, let's see what c3393 thinks, LOL...

Cruel. That'd drive the snakes out of Ireland.

LOL. Kindly excuse my transgressions.

BTW,

Avalon + True + Time After Time = Brilliant.

Every Breath You Take = Classic. But, for slow dancing? Hmmm.

So, perhaps we can switch on the spots & strobes, up the tempo?

Songs that inspired/inspires(?) athletic exploits on 80-esque dance floors:

Anyone wants to go first?
