Have gone through two routers in the past few years, first Linksys, and TP-Link AC-1750, and never had issues until now, with newly purchased ASUS AX5400.  After changing the IP address defined by the new router for Oppo 103, the Java Script stated that IP address not recognized.  From the network map of ASUS AX5400 user interphase, the Oppo 103 was clearly visible with IP address.  Once click the Execution button, got blank page, appearing there was something going on until one or two min later, the error message mentioned above showed up.  Switch back to TP-Link and everything was back to normal.  I have had ASUS AX5400 for about couple weeks.  It works seamlessly with HQPlayer and SoTM streamer when did the transition.  Wonder if anything obvious I have been missing here?  What else I should look into to nail down the issue?  Thank you very much for your insight!

1. Are you connecting wirelessly or do you have a wired ethernet connection?

2. What OS is the computer you're using have installed on it?

3. Can you ping the Oppo from your computer using the IP address your router has assigned to it?

4. Can you ping the Oppo with the IP + port number?

(For future, it would be better if you assigned a fixed IP address to your Oppo- DHCP leases do expire periodically and there's no guarantee that the same one will be assigned to the Oppo.)

I assume that you didn't change the Oppo to the same IP address you used with your old router?  Every router comes with a range of IP addresses which it uses to assign to the devices connected to it.  I ran into a similar problem many years ago when I switched from another brand of router to my first Asus router and wasn't able to find one of my devices that I knew was attached to my network and which I had always been able to find previously.  So your new router may not recognize the address you assigned to your Oppo.  Is the address you gave to the Oppo a fixed (static) address or did the router's DCHP give it the address?

Yes, I changed the IP address with the new one assigned by AX5400.  I actually changed back to the original IP address when switching back to TP-Link.  Never had issues with TP-Link.  I used DCHP.

Will try to Ping the Oppo from my computer.  It is Mac Mini M1 with Bug Sur as an OS.  Thank you for the suggestions.

You didn't mention it was an M1 based computer- clearly you did not have this Mac mini when you previously tested it with the LinkSys and TP-Link routers. So to clarify, when you said you went back to the TP-Link and everything was fine, you're talking about using the M1 with the Linksys? And were you able to rip an SACD with the M1? The reason I ask is because the M1 is a RISC based processor and previous Macs have been CiSC based; CiSC based software written for CiSC processors must be re-compiled to run on the M1, Apple provides an Software Development Kit for this, but whether or not this has been done for the software you're using on the Mac mini M1 is unknown to me, but we're still in the early stages of M1, and the above is about OS X-based software, I don't know what the situation is with M1 if you're using Terminal to extract SACDs...

In the meantime, clarify the hardware used for the positive results and negative results, and if you've been able to fully execute the ripping process with those combinations.

Which exact version of sacd_extract are you using?

Thank you for offering the advice.  In the original post, I mentioned that once switched back to TP-Link with corresponding IP address, everything works fine.  I have been using M1 and TP-Link started from last Dec..  The transition from 2015 MacBook to Mac Mini M1 was effortless.

Just tested the Ping, be able to get response from IP address, but not with port number :2002.  Thank you for your help.

So, for clarification, you have used the M1 and Oppo via the TP-Link router and you were able to successfully extract an SACD using the same version of SACD_extract and OS X and you haven't changed IP addresses or anything else?

Pull the ethernet cable on the Oppo and ping the IP address to make sure you get no response, just to make sure the ASUS router hasn't DHCP'd that address to another device on your network.

Yes, M1/TP-Link/Oppo have been working great for the past several months.  I have changed the IP address designated by new ASUS Router, and I got response from Oppo by Ping this IP address but not its extended IP address with :2002.

If they had been working great for the past several months then they should continue to do so, and there must be other stuff going on with your network changes that are preventing the rips.

The v6 of sacd_extract is very old, however if you said it was working on an M1-based Mac already, then there is no reason why it shouldn't continue to do so.

Yes, it has been running great.  M1 works well with the existing platform I have.  The Java was pretty new, I downloaded the newer version later last year upon the suggestion I got from here.  I tried to search a newer version for sacd_extract.  It should be in Sonore’s official web site.  Did not realize it was that old already.

The v6 version means 3.6, and that is old. I believe Sonore updated their links in August of 2020, prior to that it had the same Mac version for about 3 years if memory serves. Maybe you just have an old version .txt document?

EuFlo's enhanced versions can be found at his GitHub repository, those are all 3.9 releases. But if what you had was already working, there is no reason why it shouldn't continue to do so. Still no reason not to update to the -99 most recent however, but you will have to make it executable.

OK, the problem was fixed.  Appears that I need to completely delete the old IP address, then retype in the new one, even with some portions which are the same.  I did double-check the error message yesterday, the IP address the error message indicated no response was the correctly entered but I just did not delete all the four space between the “.”

Thank you for everyone’s response and help.

Again Mac Mini M1 works great with this utility.

Congratulation on your successful 'Space eRace'...

Hi, Just purchased a oppo 103 and come back to ripping sacd ( had a pioneer 160 but this went dud. Everything set up as previously the issue I have is the server address. the sonore server requires 5 fields but network ip of the 0pp0 only has 4 :   192.168.1.182 and the software adds a 0 to the 5th field and will not connect.

Perhaps someone can help?

Wired connection.

Try adding      :2002          in the last spot.  That's a colon not a period.

Hello All,

In searching for a way to back up my SACD library, I recently came across this thread and was inspired to purchase a used Sony BDP-S590 off of eBay for that purpose. The unit appears fully functional and plays DVDs and SACDs without issue. I connected it via Ethernet to my home LAN and assigned it a static IP address. I can successfully ping it from either my laptop (wireless) or media PC (Ethernet), both of which run Windows 10. The S590 is at firmware version M12.R.0497. It prompted me to update to the latest revision, but I declined and subsequently turned off update reminders in the system settings.

I then set out to back up an SACD:

1) Did a FAT32 format on a 16 GB USB stick from my Win 10 laptop.

2) Created folder AutoScript on the root of the USB stick.

3) Downloaded AutoScript, AutoScript.tss, and sacd_extract_160 from Dropbox and copied to the AutoScript folder on the USB drive.

Contents of AutoScript file (AutoScript.tss appears to be identical):

#MTKAT 0.xx script

CLI(CLI_exec cp /mnt/sda1/AutoScript/sacd_extract_160 /)
CLI(CLI_exec insmod /lib/modules/2.6.35/BDP/splitter.ko)
CLI(CLI_exec /sacd_extract_160 -S &)
CLI(CLI_drv.ir.rx.sq 0xaf000)

4) Powered on S590, waited for Home screen to appear, then inserted USB stick into frontal USB port.

5) After 10-15 seconds, CD drawer opened. I inserted the SACD, and hit the Close button which caused the SACD to load and took me to a screen showing the running time of the SACD.

6) I followed the instructions and used the remote to toggle the SACD Playback Channel option.

7) I downloaded sacd_extract-0.3.9.3-99-win64.zip and extracted the contents to a folder (sacd_extract) and created a C:\Temp folder for SACD data extraction testing.

8) I ran the following command from a Windows 10 cmd shell on my LAN-connected media PC:

.\sacd_extract -2 -o C:\Temp -y C:\Temp -i 192.168.42.59:2002

and got the following output:

Found configuration 'sacd_extract.cfg' file...
Artist will be added in folder name (artist=0) no
Performer will be added in filename of track (performer=0) no
        Padding-less (nopad=0) no
        Pauses included (pauses=0) no
        Concatenate (concatenate=0) no
        ID3tagV2.4 (id3tag = 4) yes
        Logging (logging = 0) no
Failed to connect
libsacdread: Can't open 192.168.42.59:2002 for reading

Program terminates!

9) I downloaded PuTTY onto my media PC to use as a primitive port scanner. Tried to connect to port 2002 at IP address 192.168.42.59 and got "Connection Refused", which leads me to believe that the script on the S590 is not opening that port for reading.

So, herewith some questions:

1) Should the firmware version (M12.R.0497) on my S590 support the operation I'm trying to perform?

2) Does my AutoScript have the proper contents? The fact that the drawer opened was encouraging.

3) Should the sacd_extract command have worked as I invoked it? I don't have Java on the media PC, so opted to use a shell command in lieu of ISO2DSD.

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions!

Yes

Yes however there was no need at all to look into these files, and any errant keystroke whatsoever will have broken that script. If there is any doubt in your mind about that, wipe the flash drive and re-download the AutoScript, and don't open it, just place it on the flash drive and safely eject it. If you use the Download button in the upper righthand corner of the DropBox interface, you should get the entire folder and not just it's contents.

Do you mean you had the on-screen displayed settings menu visible, and you navigated to the appropriate screen to perform the toggle that way, or did you mean you think you toggled the stereo/multichannel setting simply by pressing a single button on the remote?

You can't do the latter, i.e. you can't just press the audio button on the remote, you do have to use the on-screen displayed settings menu to make that toggle.
