Thanks, but without your discovery (SACD channel toggle via music menu) these two new models would have not made it onto the list. The premium Sony model (UHP-H1) is missing the sleep mode entirely (at least on EU models) and a nap mode can not be conventionally initiated as the player also "forgot how the handle" the scripted IR commands. A remote ripping ability has not been confirmed yet. The surround set (BDV-E190) is still having a sleep mode (without power to USB port) but also does not respond to IR commands via AutoScript. Additionally the LAN port 2002 is blocked by default (no remote ripping out of the box) but at least telnet is working fine. Should the BDV models become more popular, I would like to delve into the remote ripping topic with you again, as I managed to free up the 2002 port & starting the SACD daemon service (sacd_extract_160 -S), but was having constant issues with getting access to the disc (not only in awake mode). 15 hours ago, Phthalocyanine said: Your other three models are from what year? BDV-EF220 BDV-EF420 BDV-T39 The first two are 2.1 models from 2012. Have to pass on the last one, but at least it was a product for the American market only. The regional variations are also covered on the service manual: chichaz and MikeyFresh 2 Link to comment
Kal Rubinson
Shouldn't all this Sony-related conversation be on a different thread? I thought this thread was about Oppo/Pioneer implementations or is it now just SACD-ripping in general? rwwjr44 1 Kal Rubinson Senior Contributing Editor, Stereophile Link to comment

That would be no small task, given the Sony model conversation started in early 2018 and has not only been tolerated but encouraged ever since. It would be much easier to change the thread topic name to include the Sony brand if not others, or remove specific brand references and just say "using a Blu-ray player" in the thread topic name. My 2 cents, the thread has not been dedicated to just 2 compatible Oppo and 3 compatible Pioneer models for a very long time now. Take a look at the current compatibility list, it's grown substantially, and not only with the Sony models. Popular Post JSchmidt
I agree with Mikey Fresh about changing the thread title being the best option. The more important problem is getting the DSD info off of your SACDs; Oppo/Pioneer just happened to be the first hardware identified as workable. MikeyFresh and chichaz 1 1 Link to comment

ASRMichael
Hi, I’m awaiting my Sony S4100 to start ripping my small collection. Instructions seem straight forward. This might be a silly question & but looking for clarification. What happens with multi-channel discs when ripped & play 2 channel only? Do these discs have a layer just for 2 channel stereo? or multi-channel is only for AV setups? 5.1 etc? Link to comment

The idea of this thread was to discover and promote a generation of SACD and BluRay/combi players (i.e non-PS3 SACD ripping) and their new way of ripping the content of protected SACD discs. At the time of my starting it (and I abdicated real moderation to Phthalocyanine long ago as I don't do any of these ripping methods, just pointed them out ) the Sony players were not yet discovered to be eligible. And Oppos were still being made. Net/net, I think we should leave it as a large non-PS3 BluRay players ripping thread, unless someone has the time to bifurcate all the Sony talk for the past 2 years. sneakmasterg, chichaz, rwwjr44 and 1 other 2 1 1 "We're all bozos on this bus"....F.T. You can elect to rip either or both of them. I don't rule out that there may be some SACDs out there that contain multichannel only (as with various DVD-Audio disc titles), however if they exist, I don't own any/have never seen one. There are, however, many SACD titles that are stereo only. chichaz and ASRMichael 1 1 Boycott HDtracks Boycott Lenbrook Boycott Warner Music Group Link to comment

stoutblock
Well I am struggling try to figure out how to do this. I've been wanting to do this for years as I have about 200 SACDs. I have an Oppo BDP-103. I have auto play and auto resume turned off. I loaded the three files (Autoscript, Autoscript.TSS, sacd_extract) on a folder named autoscript on the thumb drive. Install the drive into the Oppo. Door opens up, I insert SACD. Close door. I have the ISO2DSD app loaded on Win 10 desktop. The oppo has a wireless end point connected to Ethernet input. I can see the Oppo on the network from my PC. I run ISO2DSD, load the oppo IP address. When I click execute. This is what I get. I am a bit of a dummy on these things. Is the port right? Also the TSS files shows as a notepad document on the USB drive? Lord I need help! Link to comment
