Jeff Beck Loud Hailer on NPR stream

Recommended Posts

Honestly wasn't expecting much even though Jeff Beck is my favorite guitarist. This is fabulous. Buying the CD but wonder if HDT will have this in better res?

Thanks for posting on Loud Hailer. The Pono website only has one song at 44.1/16. If they get the whole album up I will buy it there. In the event that they only have it in red book quality I would be in line for a future free hi res upgrade.

Yeah, I like it too. Hopefully it won't be too heavily volume compressed and there will be a hi-res download.

Main setup: Surge protector +>Isol-8 Mini sub Axis Power Strip/Isolation>QuietPC Low Noise Server>Roon (Audiolense DRC)>Stack Audio Link II>Kii Control>Kii Three (on their own electric circuit) >GIK Room Treatments.

Secondary Path: Server with Audiolense RC>RPi4 or analog>Cayin iDAC6 MKII (tube mode) (XLR)>Kii Three .

I bought the CD and am glad I didn't spend double on the download. Horrible doesn't even name it right. The stream on NPR wasn't so bad but I was listening off the computer. The CD is unlistenable (I hate that descriptive) from and audio standpoint. So ridiculously compressed so you get bass'd to death. A real disappointment since the musicianship is great and I do like the compostion. Only can wonder "what if" and this thing was given air to breath.

available on Tidal. It's now at from between $16-$20 at the hi-res sites, for 24/44.1. if the hi-res has that kind of DR, I'm glad I didn't buy it.
