MY Audio Pc didn't see my DAC(NAD M51) after connected Intona (industrail) in between. What happened?

First, My PC can recognized DAC. Song can be played. but after a minute, the sound stopped. Then PC didn't recognized my DAC.

I tried to restart, shutdown... but it still happened the same.

What should i do?

Contact Intona... IME their customer service is beyond reproach.

Try reinstalling the USB driver for the DAC:

 

M51 Direct Digital DAC - NAD Electronics

 

If the problem is a bug in the (older) firmware of the DAC, maybe a firmware upgrade can help.

 

Be aware that support might not be able to help you with your unusual and tweaked Windows system (OS wins2012R2, Audio Optimizer, Fidelizer Pro)

Thanks. I already upgraded firmware but nothing change.

If it caused by those 3 softwares, it's a big bad news for me because i use all of them.

Try a short USB cable between Intona and DAC and if that does not work then insert a Regen between Intona and DAC.

I can't use a short cable because my USB card is PPA OCXO card and my cable is a twin cable (JCAT) for from PC to intona. The short one for intona to DAC. If i switch them, it can't work well because output of intona has only one connector which only the signal data will be send out to DAC, so it useless to use intona in that way,

 

I read from another forum. Someone commended that it caused by temperature change. When temperature climb up 1degree, time will change a little bit (in nanosec) then it stop working.

 

Is it true?

 

I mailed to intona this morning. until now, i don't receive any replied mail yet.

 

This is one of my new lesson which i just learned.

Before buying something, don't forget to google " item which i'm interested in + problem"

Sorry, I didn't know what this Intona thing was when I posted my reply. If the connection works without it, then obviously Intona is the problem.

I tried it again an hour ago. It still be the same. I'm so curious with its flash light. it blinked around 2hz. I read in its manual, its only told me - during transmission or something like that. I think it's not a tranmission thing because my DAC shown it loss connection.

I would not be surprised if the Nad USB driver requires that the USB cable goes direct from PC to the Nad m51. Try removing the Intona isolator and connecting direct. if that works I would try removing the Nad USB driver and see if the computer than recognizes the Nad through the Intona isolator without the Nad USB driver

Ahh i will try it.

So my new DAC is Brooklyn (coming soon) . I hope it may hasn't this problem.
