wgscott
I finally found an OS X desktop application that seems to work almost perfectly with my Teac NT-503. It automatically discovers the DAC on the network, and all the controls work. The only problem is lossless FLAC (for example) gets resampled to mp3. I can't figure out where to tell it not to do this. I gather Ponoplayer is basically a free version of Jriver, so maybe it is possible this functionality is slightly crippled? I don't know anything about Jriver either (although if I get this working, it would be a major incentive to get it.) Link to comment
Snowmonkey
Why don't you download an evaluation copy of JRiver for OSX? No problem controlling transcoding there. Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted. - Einstein Link to comment
wgscott
Thanks for that suggestion. It showed me how to get at the settings. (Toggle the nextwork setting off and then on, if anyone else has this issue) and it takes you through the whole setup (identical to Jriver). Now it transcodes everything to wav, but losslessly, so I can live with that. It doesn't seem to handle DSD, but maybe another setting is needed. Link to comment
