Prince Rogers Nelson (June 7, 1958 – April 21, 2016)

The irony here is that I've never been a fan of any Prince's music . . . until I heard a rare track of his at AXPONA called, of all things, The Undertaker. It's simply amazing and I couldn't quit thinking about it. In fact, I was able to locate a copy on Ebay from England and ordered it. Only two days later, Prince had passed away. If I hadn't heard his music earlier, it would have been sad but I would have quickly moved on. But i had connected with his music so deeply that weekend that I was surprised at how much his death affected me.

 

I'm so impressed with his remarkable guitar work. I'll appreciate any album recommendations in which his guitar work is the highlight.

 

Aside from that, it will probably only be over time that I'll better understand what a tremendous loss we've experienced.
