Audirvana Plus 2.5 with Tidal

This is bizarre. I've lost connection with TIDAL with A+. I'm supposedly 'connected' yet nothing is working. I see the TIDAL icon in the navigation but the TIDAL link is non-functioning. I've tried logging in a few times. Nada. Has anyone else got this problem? TIDAL has been working with no issues right up until now.

+1

Roon is working but audirvana+ no :(

This is an issue @TIDAL. Just checked with the web player. Can't get "My Music" listed.

  • 2 weeks later...

Just upgraded from 2.3.3 to 2.5.

When upgrading instead of deleting 2.3.3 I dragged it back to my desktop and opened audirvana from it.

audirvana showed it was Ver 2.3.3.

I was also able to open audirvana from the apps menu in finder and that opened Ver 2.5.

I could not see 2.5 in apps in finder and opening audirvana from the dock opened 2.3.3

Are these in fact the versions they purport to be? Can I keep and use both versions?

How come I couldn't see 2.3.3 in apps in finder? Is it elsewhere?

Thanks

How did you install it?

How did you install it?

I changed the name of the app in the app folder in finder from audirvana plus to audirvana plus.1 (just in case that was going to make a difference to keep both).

I then opened audirvana and upgraded from there.

Finder shows 2.3.3 as being on the desktop as I dragged it from trash to there.

And has 2.5 as being under applications.

Spotlight search shows 2.3.3 (as the renamed audirvana plus.1 that I named it before updating) and 2.5 existing on the Mac

Furthermore I noticed when I open 2.3.3 there in streaming options in preferences so that's a good sign this is 2.3.3

And 2.3.3 sounds a little different to 2.5 or is that placebo? A little more defined bottom end I think. Placebo?????

But why is there no 2.3.3 under my applications in finder I ask

I think it's because you have v2.3.3 on the Desktop.

If the two versions have different names (in the Finder), you can safely keep them both in the Applications folder. I'd be careful to have only one version running at a time, though.

... I still don't get all this manually renaming versions thing: when you drop an app to "Applications" the OS asks you if you want to replace the existing one or keep both. if you opt for keeping both renaming is done automagically

oh... and if/when you have a shortcut in the Dock it will still point to the version it was created with no matter where you move it (it will still point to an old version moved to the trash until you empty it)

it only updates and points to a newer version if just *one* is present

Thanks for that. Nicely and simply explains it. (For some reason I had it in my head that all apps had to be under applications rather than just seeing it as a storage area/"folder" called "applications")

So did I mange to keep both versions because I renamed the app before updating it or could I always have been able to simply drag it out of the trash after the new upgrade?

And is there effectively any limit to how many versions I can keep?

For my own reference, Should this be able to be done with all apps or just some? I had never thought about this before.

Thanks for your responses.

Damien, with the upcoming microRendu (and most likely more initiatives with ethernet input), do you plan on NAA output? I would love to continue to use your product, especially because of it's AU plugin support (besides all other excellent functions of course). Personally I cannot live without Fabfilter Pro-Q 2 to fight a few room modes.

When you just install it as normally, and select the "keep both" option, this is what happens, and you can keep them all, and use them all, independently of each other. Your settings remain constant among all versions as well.

Do you mean if you change the setting in one it changes all of them?

A+ in iTunes Integrated Mode is crashing for me on the latest version of iTunes (12.4.0 119).

The crash happens at the end of the first track played.

For the first time this morning, right after I downloaded the latest 2.5.1 version, I tried to get the A+ 3-month trial offer of Tidal.

I clicked through using the A+ preferences pane, which retrieved the voucher.

That took me to the web, where I gave Tidal my credit card info -- BUT the next page said I wasn't able to get the offer.

Any suggestions to fix that?

Dave, who tried twice clicking through A+ and its preferences pane and got the same result both times

Hi Dave .. after trying a couple of times I ended up sending TIDAL support an email and within a few days they activated the 3 month trial.

Melvin, looks like I'll have to do that. In fact, after Tidal just sent me an "abandoned cart" email, I thought I'd try again, clicked through from that email, with the same null results for a third time.

So thanks,

Dave, who says speaking of null results very interesting avatar you have there today kind sir

Same experience here -- I got a message saying that I wasn't qualified for the offer, but thenTidal Support got me signed in to 3 month trial within 2-3 days.

So I sent email to Tidal customer support, and they replied that they deleted my original info from the system and to try to sign up again.

But now, when I go to the A+ Preferences to retrieve the voucher, I get this error message pictured below.

This latest snafu is with A+ version 2.5.1.

Next ideas for getting this done???

Dave, who knows what it's like to go in circles but doesn't really like it
