If you could only have one "usb helper device" which would you use.

Please do not pick one just out of bias toward supporting one company or another.

You forgot J> I am waiting for a cheap Asian Clone.(evil grin)

How a Digital Audio file sounds, or a Digital Video file looks, is governed to a large extent by the Power Supply area. All that Identical Checksums gives is the possibility of REGENERATING the file to close to that of the original file.

You do know you can put these choices in the poll, so the text comes up next to the choices, right? :)

yea, i just have to enter the questsion after i submit the message...i made this same mistake once before ...i forgot, and when i tried to edit, it will allow you to edit the message but not the responses.....

I knew someone would ask, and i ma glad it was you, and not someone that called me an idiot (grin).

I wish the site would allow you to delete a message and start over if within 3 minutes or something....it would save me some embarrassment...but heck i am used to being embarrassed....it doesn't bother me anymore.

So answer the poll darn you!

(grin) I would, but I need to check E, F, and G personally... (/grin) Did you know you can also make the polls multiple choice? :)

Really? WHy not intona? Was that post where someone said that regen backed out of a head to head blind test against itona hogwash? There seems to be quite a few people that say the intona is much better...seems hard to believe to me though since they don't even have an external power supply and rely on the noisy usb power supply. I haven't read the engineering behind it, but seems like garbage in equals garbage out makes sense inre the power supply to me. I know there are a lot of "loyal" and "customers" of regen here, so there may be some bias leaning toward regen...but i always considered you a straight shooter...i am really curious as to your opinion on this matter.

I don't know enough about Intona to have an opinion. I do think he iUSB Power and Regen are the best buys in the marketplace. And I think the USB interface to beat, at least for PCM music, is the Audiophileo1 with the mated power adapter.

But that is just me. I think that modern USB interfaces pretty much are about as good as they get, and so do not need USB aids. Or rather, that the benefit from a USB aid is so small that it is not worth the time, effort, and expense. Other people will obviously disagree. On the other paw, my favorite little PCM DAC only support up to 96k sample rates, has an internal battery which powers all the crucial internal parts, and runs Streamlength Async USB software. It sounds really really good, despite just a slosh of roll off in the treble.
