Did you know that the song inspired U2's Adam Clayton to "New Year's Day" when he tried to play Fade to Grey's bass/brass intro on his bass?
Originally the song was an instrumental by Chris Payne, a member of Gary Numan's backing-band. He explains the story of the song.
