firedog
Was reading DAC reviews of these two. They are roughly comparable in features and price (with volume control) and share some design ideas. Anyone heard them both or directly compared them? Just curious. I have no possibility of auditioning them where I live. Main listening (small home office): Main setup: Surge protector +>Isol-8 Mini sub Axis Power Strip/Isolation>QuietPC Low Noise Server>Roon (Audiolense DRC)>Stack Audio Link II>Kii Control>Kii Three (on their own electric circuit) >GIK Room Treatments. Secondary Path: Server with Audiolense RC>RPi4 or analog>Cayin iDAC6 MKII (tube mode) (XLR)>Kii Three . Bedroom: SBTouch to Cambridge Soundworks Desktop Setup. Living Room/Kitchen: Ropieee (RPi3b+ with touchscreen) + Schiit Modi3E to a pair of Morel Hogtalare. All absolute statements about audio are false Link to comment
accwai
The Totaldac I know very, very well. And I have spend an evening with the Big 7. Never compared directly though. The systems they are in make comparison very difficult. The Big 7 system probably costs twice as much as the Totaldac one, but lets just say the latter system is much more to my personal taste I think at this level, system philosophy and synergy is as important as the component parts. So no easy answer I'm afraid. Link to comment

Are you sure you weren't comparing to a previous model of the TotalDAC d1? YashN
firedog, I have found this review of the TotalDAC which has a comparison with the Lite 7 (not the Big 7), if it helps. Are you sure you weren't comparing to a previous model of the TotalDAC d1? Now that you mentioned it, I'm not all that sure... Let me go downstairs and double check Incidentally, the d1-tube-mk1 was a in the d1-single class while the mk2 is in the d1-dual class. So there's a rather significant gap between the two. Big 7 vs d1-tube-mk1 is probably not a fair comparison. Link to comment
