New Oppo's??

When are the new 4K Oppo's due.. and more importantly for this forum:

 

1/ will they continue to have 5.1 Analog out and

 

2/ Will they sort the McH DSD gapless DLNA issue?

I suspect once the Ultra HD blu rays become more mainstream they will probably update their players.

Unlikely anytime soon, we have hardly any 4K media.

 

Even then they'd be priced prohibitively... at least initially.

 

Its probably going to be Netflix and YouTube for 4K content till the middle of 2017 or maybe even later.

 

I know the studios did promise over 100 4K titles this year, but I'll be waiting it out till the prices of the players come down. That's a caveat even if using the Oppo for audio duties.

I spoke with someone at Oppo today. The new line will be released the end of this year. No other information was provided although I pressed on details.

More info. Sept. Oct. is the timeline. It will likely still use the Sabre DAC in the higher end. Biggest change will be support for UHD or 4k.
