First RoonReady network music player. The Sonicorbiter SE.

We have completed RoonReady certification for the Sonicorbiter SE. Jesus form Sonore posted a great picture of the UI here

I love the little wire frame picture of the unit itself in the lower right.

I have been doing some testing with it today and it's really amazing. Roon does all the required processing on the server so the player can have a very small low power CPU.

Hi Agillis

Interesting that Sonore have felt it necessary to make the Sonicorbiter SE RoonReady via RAAT, given that it's internal Squeezelite player should already be natively supported by the current release of Roon as an endpoint via the Squeezebox protocol.

Have you tested both the RoonReady & Squeezelite options of the Sonicorbiter SE with Roon? I'd be very interested to know how they compare and if there are any differences and advantages/disadvantages to using either option with Roon.

Thanks

John

The RoonReady option will be better. You can see the signal path right down to the DAC in the Roon interface. Also you get the use the RAAT protocol end to end on the network.

The squeezebox interface is nice to light up the millions of Squeezebox players out there. But you will still get a better experience with a full RoonReady certified device.
