BBB Renderer and Schiit Bifrost

I'm just throwing this out there to see if anyone else has had this problem.

 

Using the BBB renderer per Chris's instructions. The first song in a listening session begins with horrible digital artifacts as though the DAC (Schiit Bifrost) can't communicate with the BBB (USB connection).

 

Pausing the music and then restarting it solves the problem. And from there it doesn't seem to come back regardless of the file type or resolution. It's a temporary annoyance but I'd like it to go away.

 

I can ssh into the BBB and open config files; I've tried disabling the volume control and setting the buffer to 10% but I still get the problem.

 

Any ideas?
