cbarber
Hi, Does anyone have a problem with their Mac Mini 2009 not recognizing their USB DAC after putting the mini to sleep and then waking it up? As far as I can tell, this is only a problem with the 2009 minis, not earlier. Thanks Link to comment
Dan1970
I have no problem with this; my Mini is about a month old and I use an Ayre qb-9 with it. The qb-9 goes in standby mode when the Mini is sleeping; when the Mini wakes up the qb-9 switches on. Link to comment
cbarber
Thanks for the reply. Bummer. My USB DAC wakes fine from sleep maybe the first or if I'm lucky the second time. Then when I wake the mini from sleep the DAC is unresponsive. Usually still shows up in the USB device tree (though not always), just stops working. Apple says my mini is fine. My hardware number says my mini is an "Early 2009." Is it possible something was changed in later 2009 minis? Thanks much Link to comment
Audio_ELF
It might be worth you saying what model USB DAC you have? Someone may have specific device for the DAC. If it's still in the USB Device Tree, it's probably more down to the DAC than the MacMini. Eloise Eloise --- ...in my opinion / experience... While I agree "Everything may matter" working out what actually affects the sound is a trickier thing. And I agree "Trust your ears" but equally don't allow them to fool you - trust them with a bit of skepticism. keep your mind open... But mind your brain doesn't fall out. Link to comment
