The CD is a professionally recorded and mastered collection of 13 original songs written and performed by veterans with the support of accomplished musician/facilitators and a psychology mentor. The CD is available for sale on Amazon.com and CDBaby.com. All proceeds from the sale of the album will support the Voices of Valor therapeutic program designed to help veterans of any combat era reintegrate into civilian life. "Veterans face enormous challenges to reintegrate into civilian society, and their bravery and honesty shine through the lyrics and the music of the songs they have created on this album," said Brian F. Dallow, Executive Director of Music For All Seasons, which created and runs the Voices of Valor program. "This exceptional achievement is musically tight, emotionally charged and truly reflects the real experiences faced by the veterans." Voices of Valor, currently in its fourth year, brings together groups of six to ten veterans working with two professional musician/facilitators and a psychology mentor to write lyrics about their experiences, and then compose and record an original song. This transformative experience provides an opportunity for veterans to turn their negative experiences and perspectives into something positive, creative, shared and empowering, using the group setting to establish an energetic atmosphere of mutual support. The program received an Innovator Award from the New Jersey Theatre Alliance and NJ State Council on the Arts. Voices of Valor: Coming Home -- Songs of American Veterans showcases 13 of more than 35 songs written and performed by veterans participating in the Voices of Valor program between 2012 and 2014. The songs are: Call of Duty, Who Am I?, A Better Place, Message to America, Letting Go, Surrender, Running Free, Freedom, The Greatest Gain, Everything Will Be Alright, Family, Chains of Freedom, and Standing. Voices of Valor®, was created in 2011 to help veterans heal through music. It is conducted by Music for All Seasons, an organization committed to fostering human interaction and healing through the art of live musical performance by bringing programs to youth at risk, veterans, seniors, hospitals and hospices. Music for All Seasons® (MFAS), located in Scotch Plains, NJ, was founded in 1991 by Rena Fruchter and Brian Dallow.
