KDinsmore
Jeff Beck is my absolute favorite so here's hoping. I believe these tapes were never good but hope I'm wrong. Beckola is only $10 too. Busy today but I'll get them tomorrow unless I hear they are awful which is entirely possible. firedog
I like the "Truth". Has a little volume compression. My previous CD remaster (with Bonus Tracks) has the same average DR, 10, but there are is more variation (DR 9-12), so I think it sounds less compressed. But overall it sounds good, I'm happy I've got it. foobar2000 1.3.8 / Dynamic Range Meter 1.1.0 log date: 2015-10-17 11:26:33 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Analyzed: Jeff Beck / Truth 24-96 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DR Peak RMS Duration Track -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DR10 -0.37 dB -13.15 dB 3:20 01-Shapes of Things DR10 -0.61 dB -14.18 dB 4:44 02-Let Me Love You DR10 -1.32 dB -14.56 dB 4:43 03-Morning Dew DR9 -1.76 dB -13.26 dB 2:32 04-You Shook Me (Alternate Version) DR11 -2.05 dB -17.55 dB 4:00 05-Ol' Man River DR11 -6.09 dB -22.66 dB 1:50 06-Greensleeves DR11 -0.69 dB -14.44 dB 4:15 07-Rock My Plimsoul DR9 -1.38 dB -13.74 dB 2:55 08-Beck's Bolero DR11 -0.66 dB -16.36 dB 7:35 09-Blues Deluxe DR10 -0.96 dB -13.61 dB 4:52 10-I Ain't Superstitious -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Number of tracks: 10 Official DR value: DR10 Samplerate: 96000 Hz Channels: 2 Bits per sample: 24 Bitrate: 3048 kbps Codec: FLAC ================= Main listening (small home office): Main setup: Surge protector +>Isol-8 Mini sub Axis Power Strip/Isolation>QuietPC Low Noise Server>Roon (Audiolense DRC)>Stack Audio Link II>Kii Control>Kii Three (on their own electric circuit) >GIK Room Treatments. KDinsmore
A side step here that I purchased the Iconoclassic Jeff Beck Group Rough and Ready and Orange CD's. The best I've heard. All that muddiness compression has been lifted. Not high-res but really good nor expensive.
