dapost
Hi, I am looking for a 9pin to 4pin adapter that will work with a 4pin to 6pin GoldX cable. I want to connect a Weiss dac202 (6pin) to a macbook pro (9pin) isolating the power signal. Any advice where to find one that works because from the writing in this thread it seems that not all adapters work properly? Thanks! Link to comment
vortecjr
call these guys and they will make the cable however you want on both ends, with or without ferrites and whatever length you want. I had a 12" cable made for my Minerva with a ferrite in the middle and it worked great... http://usbfirewire.com/ Jesus R www.sonore.us SONORE computer audio | opticalRendu | ultraRendu | microRendu | Signature Rendu SE | endPoint | opticalModule DX | Power Supplies | Link to comment
Leigh Hibbins
Audioquest should have a Firewire 800 to 400 cable available in the coming months. They are also working on a new Cat 7 ethernet cable. MacBookPro/8GB/ApogeeDuet/ProTools9/CalDigitAVDrive/AudioquestDiamondUSB Link to comment
DaveLew
Cat 7 huh? Is that like "11"? Cat 6 runs 10gb just fine. Link to comment
dapost
As posted previously, I am looking to connect a weiss dac202 (6pin) to a MBP (9pin) without the power connection so I tried a 6pin -> 4pin cable and then used the following 4pin->9pin adapter: http://www.amazon.de/InLine-FireWire-Adapter-Buchse-Stecker/dp/B001JK1YRS/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1307028170&sr=8-9 Unfortunately, this connections does not work. Was anyone successful with a similar connection and if yes which adapter did you use? Thanks. Link to comment
