Replace mainboard original clock with PPA OCXO? Need help!

I use gigabyte G1 sniper Z97.

If i remove the original clock, which pole i have to replace a pin for PPA clock input?

If the orientation of the crystal with respect to the caps are the same as on the H97M, then the single lead from the PPA lead would go to the red arrow pin

I would look up the device for the pin out and save some time. Even then, one likely does not need to find the actual device, but look at crystals in that two pin configuration. Typically they are the same for the obvious reasons.

I think i should buy it together with PPA mainboard.. I don't have Tech skill to remove the original clock n replace with 3 pin connector (It's 4 layers mainboard) I have no idea to deal with it (so sad v_v)

Its actually just 2 pins the middle pin is just there because its a 3 position terminal block that fits, its cut off at the bottom

Just measure with voltmeter -- one pin is ground and one isn't (5v or 3.3v / 2)

It looks like the same 97 board but not Z97. Is it H97?

As on your photo, clock signal pin should be the lower one, isn' it?

Actually the problem is it's a 4 layers board which i don't know what special treat are required.

 

Have you experienced doing this? Is it much more difficult than the regular PCB?

Not too difficult if you have soldering experience. Get a tweezers under the crystal -- apply outward pressure while heating the leads from the bottom side.

Do i need REGEN, if i use PPA usb card?
