Jamesroy
I recently had my B&K pre amp volume increase in 20 seconds 30% till I caught it and shut down A+. I ask on two different forums and one answer was turn off power, unplug from AC and turn the dial back and forth a few times. ( I must mention I live in Albuquerque New Mexico very very dry and highly dusty and hight static. The other forum say stray IR signal could have been the culprit. I played it for 90 mim's each of two days and no problem. There is no reliable audio shop in Albuquerque to take it to and B&K is out of business. Thoughts? Link to comment
sandyk
James Is the IR receiver very sensitive ? In other words, can you aim the RC well away from the receiver and still have it operate ? If so, try an adhesive filter of some kind in front of the receiver to reduce it's sensitivity to non direct IR. All that Identical Checksums gives is the possibility of REGENERATING the file to close to that of the original file. PROFILE UPDATED 13-11-2020 Link to comment
Jamesroy
Thanks butI never used a remote control with it. I'm wondering if I took the top off and used vaned air if I could mess things up. If in fact it could be dust. Link to comment
wgscott
I've had Audirvana Plus do this in my office where there is no stray IR. It is a software issue. Link to comment
Jamesroy
How can we remedy it? So if thats the case and you can't abort the software in time and get blown speakers, who's at fault? Link to comment
Jud
Bill and Jim - is this with software controlling volume? wgscott
In my case, yes. In my case, it tended to drift down. I only saw it occasionally. This was awhile ago, back before I loaned by dragonfly dac to someone here who never returned it. Link to comment
Jud
Jim has A+ volume set to DAC only, if the screen shot he posted in another thread is accurate. So I don't think it's the same thing that happened to you, Bill. One never knows, do one? - Fats Waller The fairest thing we can experience is the mysterious.
