astrotoy
We thought that Moravec was a very special pianist. His ability to play Chopin was unique, particularly being able to play them most subtle range of micro dynamics - especially when playing pp to p. I have most all of his records released on the Connoisseur label (IIRC released by Vanguard), including a box on the Book-of the Month Club label. We saw Moravec twice, once in a solo recital in San Francisco, back in the '80's and then, luckily, playing a concerto in Prague in the Rudolfinum, in the '90's. I don't think he has played as much in the past few years, or we haven't seen his name around. A wonderful pianist.
