John G
My exasound e12 DAC arrived today and was up and running with a moderate amount of fiddling. It sounds terrific with JRMC and Audiophile Optimizer in the GUI mode, but will not in run in A/O Core Mode. George at exasound very promptly answered my compatibility question as follows: "We don’t have experience with the Audio Optimizer, our point of view is different. Our goal is to make our products insensitive to OS load, number of active processes, USB quality etc. I don’t want to discourage your experiments, please check the discussion to see how others have managed to use it." His email had this link, which is long and covers a multitude of issues: http://www.computeraudiophile.com/f6-dac-digital-analog-conversion/exasound-e18-e20-e28-info-and-experiences-post-all-here-17190/index36.html I'd like to try running the Core Mode, just to see if it provides any benefits. Anybody else had success in getting this to work? Link to comment

Anybody else had success in getting this to work? What output mode are you using, Kernel Streaming? AO needs to be run again (twice, I think, not entirely sure as I haven't ventured into Core mode yet) to enable KS in Core mode. If you're running WASAPI, core mode + AO doesn't support WASAPI yet. You'd need to run in Minimal Server mode to enable WASAPI. EuroDriver
I have never been able to get the Exasound "N" ASIO driver to work in WS2012 + AO Core mode however in Minimal Server Mode, the sound quality is sublime, so be happy ;-) Sound Test, Monaco Consultant to Sound Galleries Monaco, and Taiko Audio Holland e-mail [email protected] Link to comment
John G
toddrhodes: The exasound DAC uses ASIO, but I confess I'm in a little over my head with all these formats. I have run both the Service Tool and A/O itself after the mode switch. JRMC runs, but won't play audio. EuroDriver: Tried the A/O Minimal Server Mode and it wouldn't allow JRMC to play music either. Thanks to both for your responses Link to comment
John G
If anyone's still interested, I finally found the solution to this problem. The exasound driver has to be running for JRMC to play. I set up Audiophile Optimizer in the core mode, and then used the Driver Helper function of the AO Service Tool to navigate to the folder containing the exasound driver's .exe file, and ran it. All's well! Link to comment
