Murmelbier
Hello, I have got many SACD Iso's from a friend, which I converted to .dsf. What will be the best player now to hear those files, any recommendations please would be welcome. Also please could you tell me why you use a player and not the other..... Link to comment
Jud
Try Audirvana+, HQPlayer and JRiver, and see which you prefer. I'll note HQPlayer has its own custom sigma-delta modulators for DSD material. Not true AFAIK with A+, don't know about JRiver. One never knows, do one? - Fats Waller The fairest thing we can experience is the mysterious. EuroDriver
Foobar + SACD plugin is pretty good sounding, and markedly better than JRMC IME and it's free The best sounding IME is HQ Player which DAC do you have ? Hopefully DSD capable, but if not HQ Player can convert DSD to PCM as can JRMC Not sure about Foobar SACD plugin doing DSD to PCM Sound Test, Monaco Consultant to Sound Galleries Monaco, and Taiko Audio Holland e-mail [email protected] Link to comment
Murmelbier
Sorry, forgot to mention that I am on OSX. Mytek 192DSD Dac. Link to comment
Jud
ED, thanks for the mention of Foobar, which I'd forgotten. If his profile is current, the DAC is a DSD-capable Mytek. Ah, see he's beaten me to it. YashN
Also try BugHead. YashN
Foobar + SACD plugin is pretty good sounding Last time I tried was early January so that I could listen to a Yarlung Records quad-rate DSD. It's quite good indeed, but wonder if it could not be better. Perhaps trying with an update is in order. I'd definitely recommend it. It takes some setting up for DSD using the SACD plugins and ASIO plugins, but it's worthwhile. bogi
Not sure about Foobar SACD plugin doing DSD to PCM foo_input_sacd was released already in 2011. DSD to PCM is possible from the beginning and ASIO proxy foo_dsd_asio is not necessary for that. Expect of foo_input_sacd yet foo_input_dsdiff exists from other author: foobar2000: Components Repository - DSDIFF Decoder It was released yet in 2010, but it supports only DFF to PCM and no new version exists since 2011. i7 11850H + RTX A2000 Win11 HQPlayer ► Topping HS02 ► 2x iFi iSilencer ► SMSL D300 ► DIY headamp DHA1 ► HiFiMan HE-500 Link to comment
