The scarcity of high-res electronic and pop music.

Not much in common...

You mean nothing in common except for the fact that it discusses why most electronic and pop music is made at 44.1khz rather than high resolution?

...in my opinion / experience...

While I agree "Everything may matter" working out what actually affects the sound is a trickier thing.

And I agree "Trust your ears" but equally don't allow them to fool you - trust them with a bit of skepticism.

keep your mind open... But mind your brain doesn't fall out.

Not much in common because I am specifically talking about the relative rarity of electronic music in high-res, my interest being DSD - see the title and content of my first post, and in that other thread, the OP is writing specifically about the common availability of 44/24 which he considers "HD". There's nothing in that other thread that specifies electronic music (pop is mentioned, but pop doesn't equate to electronic music).

While it is a fact that many albums are produced in a more democratic way nowadays with a simple DAW and plugins, end-to-end processing and production in PCM, I argued earlier in this thread there are other ways we can do this.

Now, I wonder whether since the production can technically be taken care of (I mean, I can do some fairly analogue-sounding recordings despite them being PCM and then convert/use them as DSD as I already do with my personal Redbook material), is it a lack on the demand side for electronic music in high-res?

I believe we're still in a niche and so long that consumers do not demand with their wallet that providers like Apple's iTunes give them high-res, we'll be stuck in relative oblivion, unless that is alternate producers step up to the plate supply-side for electronic music like BlueCoast did (mostly for acoustic music).
