johnr2009
Have been trying to figure out why I can't get itunes to output any signal to my DAC. Foobar works fine. My DAC is an Altman Attraction (16/44.1 only). There is an led indicator that lights when the DAC is working correctly with the player. Again it works fine with Foobar and WMP but will not allow music to play when using itunes. I've checked device drivers through Dell and Microsoft. I'm using a Dell D620 Lattitude laptop and am stumped. I'm certainly not the most PC savvy but I know the basics. I'm running XP Pro and using a Hagerman USB/SPDIF converter. What am I missing......please help. John Link to comment
Audio_ELF
Have you checked settings in the QuickTime control panel? Eloise Eloise --- ...in my opinion / experience... While I agree "Everything may matter" working out what actually affects the sound is a trickier thing. And I agree "Trust your ears" but equally don't allow them to fool you - trust them with a bit of skepticism. keep your mind open... But mind your brain doesn't fall out. Link to comment
johnr2009
Thanks for the reply Eloise. Unfortunately this issue remains unresolved. I did check A/V controls in Quicktime and all the settings are greyed out, not active. I don't know a way around this so I uninstalled both Quicktime and iTunes with the same result. I'll try and figure something out.... not sure what. Thanks again though! John Link to comment
Audio_ELF
I can't remember the exact setting, but in the audio control panel there is a default device setting - is this set correctly? johnr2009
I did some checking but frustration set in... I checked for a default in all places... to no avail. The battle continues, John Link to comment
joesax
John: I suggest you remove any plugins such as ASIO, ASIO4ALL,etc and then try ITunes. When I first got started I had a problem getting Itunes to work with any of those plugins installed with Foobar. Agian I have the same configuration you have: XP Pro, Laptop, Hagerman USB, iTUnes and it works fine. Joe Link to comment
