How far can a USB cable send DSD or lossless files?

Hum would be super simple to measure. And yes, to hear as well. Hearing it there and gone needs no measuring in fact to be believable. I wonder about some of these USB devices. The few I have used don't have any such problems.

 

Your electrical environment may be very clean. It very well may be that differences in "sound" of all USB cables is related to ground noise and relatively small changes in ground resistances etc. So perhaps adding the $0.40 resistors across the USB connection ala the regen amber may reduce the effect of USB cables some of which are priced at ridiculous levels.
