Musicophile
I just received an email from Qobuz that together with the two new albums, Creation and the Bartok/Barber concertos, ECM also releases 8 remasters of older albums, including Standards 1&2, My Song, Changes, Facing You, The Survivor's Suite, Eyes of the Heart, and Belonging. As Standards 1&2 and especially MySong are old favorites of mine, I may end up repurchasing them for the 3rd time, given that the ECM remasters generally are of good quality. Yes, on highresaudio.com website there's already few of the old Jarrett albums including Belonging, Standards and others oldies. I am especially thinking about Belonging, but don't know if 24/96 bring any benefit, since it is 70s recording, for sure not captured by the high resolution mics, but recorded for LP release. -- Krzysztof Maj http://mkrzych.wordpress.com/ "Music is the highest form of art. mkrzych
Oh, and one thing. On Qobuz the albums are cheaper, but in suspicious 24/192 resolution, where on highresaudio.com there are 24/96. CatManDo
It looks like this is a Keith Jarrett 70th anniversary campaign and not a general ECM hi-rez reissue project. There are also new hi-rez downloads of his Impulse! albums available on HDtracks: Shades, Fort Yawuh, Byablue, Bop-be, Mysteries Claude Link to comment

Still, I am not sure since recorded in analogue for LP releases any 24/x could be better than CD - if the same mastering? -- Krzysztof Maj http://mkrzych.wordpress.com/ "Music is the highest form of art. Overall, I found the 24/96 remasters of let's say the Köln Concert and Bregenz/München, both from the 70s, to be better than the previous CD releases. That said, it's probably not due to the 24/96 shell but due to the remastering efforts. ECM has always been an audiophile label, and their 70s and 80s recordings usally are very well done. And I've used Standards 1&2, (in vinyl at that time) many times for audiophile comparisons back in the 90s Check out my blog at musicophilesblog.com - From Keith Jarrett to Johannes Brahms Link to comment
Musicophile
On highresaudio.com allnof them are 24/96. Which ones aren't? They responded to me that they've asked ECM for details. Interesting, please report back. In any case, please note that Qobuz is slightly cheaper (€17.48 vs. €21 on Highresaudio), so if their product turns out to be the real deal you may be better off purchasing there. Unfortunately ECM's website is being remodeled right now so no information to be found there, and I'm a but surprised none of the US websites are carrying the new remasters yet.
