This is using Audacity, but the same rules apply for most audio recorders. All they need is a 'What You Hear' function.

 

A useful google search term for what you want to do : record internet radio

 

The principle of 'Recording What You Hear' can prove useful in many ways.

Try Audio Hijack Pro. it's a relatively inexpensive shareware program that can 'hijack' anything going through system audio (or from an app).

 

A side benefit is that you can insert any AU or VST plugin into your audio signal for eq, or other DSP processing cheaply.
