89reksal
Here's an interesting (hopefully) link to a discussion about what could happen to Tidal's lossless streaming option: Will Jay-Z Kill Audiophile Streaming? - Audiophile Review Some of the reader comments raise some interesting points as well. kirkmc
He clearly didn't buy Tidal because of its lossless streaming. I think the only reason was because it was a streaming service that was up and running, without too many customers, meaning he could buy it on the cheap. The music they're focusing on is not going to benefit from lossless, and the people they are targeting couldn't care less. I write about Macs, music, and more at Kirkville. qdwieertteyrujpo
I can recommend Deezer: a very wide selection and very reliable streaming (for my case tested so far in Switzerland and the UK). Deezer and Qobuz are my services of choice. Dieter Link to comment

The Computer Audiophile
http://lefsetz.com/wordpress/index.php/archives/2015/04/09/more-tidal/ I used to read Lefsetz. After talking to a few people who actually work in the music industry, who called him a clown among other things, I've come to see him differently. I don't respect his writing anymore. fabythom2713
I don't know much about Chris, but the way I see is that Tidal is been presented everywhere, but if you charge me $20 a month, you better have everything if not, i'll sacrify and listen to lower quiality music i.e.( spotify). At the end what matters is to enjoy the music. Link to comment

The Roon folks have talked about this quite a bit. Don't have time to go searching now, but check out the Roon thread here (in Software) and also the Roon forum. --David Edit: My impression is that it's the other way around. Soon will support listening to Tidal from within Roon. I remember them (Roon) mentioning they were working with a streaming partner but I don't remember them mentioning Tidal. It certainly has a lot of potential, but then Roon may reveal how shallow Tidal's catalog really is. fabythom2713
So you now have bluesound node? How do you get Deezer Elite on that? Thanks I can tell you from the SONOS point. When you buy you are given a special code to create a Deezer account, when I returned Sonos the account was already opened...then I added to the streaming on my Node...you can also buy BOSE qualified ( DEEZER ) equipment...The rest is history... orgel
There's an article on engadget (new as of yesterday) about some of the commercial considerations associated with Jay Z's purchase. It's kind of amazing how on the one hand Tidal is looking more appealing (apparently imminent support for playback from Roon and also some near-term possibilities for playing back via Audirvana+), while at the same time, Jay Z's moves may imply imminent disaster. One hopes that Mr Carter will keep in mind that his audiophile demographic is paying a good piece of the freight for the enterprise. --David Listening Room: Mac mini (Roon Core) > iMac (HQP) > exaSound PlayPoint (as NAA) > exaSound e32 > W4S STP-SE > Benchmark AHB2 > Wilson Sophia Series 2 (Details) Office: Mac Pro > AudioQuest DragonFly Red > JBL LSR305 Mobile: iPhone 6S > AudioQuest DragonFly Black > JH Audio JH5 Link to comment
