Anyone know of a good guide to setting up 8.1 to run headless, disable passwords, pin programs to start menu etc? After I get that sorted I'll deal with audio optimization either with Fidelizer or something similar. Thanks in advance. rn701 Posted April 16, 2015 Share Posted April 16, 2015 You can't disable passwords as far as I know, but you can setup auto login: How Can I Make the Default User Log on to Windows 8/Windows 8.1 Automatically? - Configuration - Windows 8 You can right click on shortcuts to pin them to menus, taskbar, etc. Link to comment

Because a replacement start menu is needed for a machine that will be headless and autostart the required applications on startup? I don't know about you, but I often RDP into a headless machine for various reasons. When I do, I much prefer the traditional (pre Windows 8) start menu behavior. Link to comment
