Yes, but sandyk's examples didn't violate that rule. What would violate that rule is something like the following: Lawyer: So you admit you didn't see my client bite the plaintiff's ear? Witness: That's right. Lawyer: Then how can you say you're sure he did it? Witness: I saw him spit it out.
