I have seven DACs, a half dozen amps/preamps/integrateds, seven sets of speakers, five active music servers, twelve software players (counting iTunes and Vortexbox player), 5 store-bought and 10 homemade sets of speaker cables, and an assortment of CD, DVD, Blurry players, working, half working, and totally broken turntables, and other stuff like USB-2-S/PDIF converters.

I am now certifiably a hobby hoarder. (*sigh*) As my wife points out... I guess I feel a garage sale or Goodwill run coming up.

Anyone who considers protocol unimportant has never dealt with a cat DAC.

Pretty much two or more of everything.

Main listening (small home office):

Main setup: Surge protector +>Isol-8 Mini sub Axis Power Strip/Isolation>QuietPC Low Noise Server>Roon (Audiolense DRC)>Stack Audio Link II>Kii Control>Kii Three (on their own electric circuit) >GIK Room Treatments.

Secondary Path: Server with Audiolense RC>RPi4 or analog>Cayin iDAC6 MKII (tube mode) (XLR)>Kii Three BXT

Bedroom: SBTouch to Cambridge Soundworks Desktop Setup.
Living Room/Kitchen: Ropieee (RPi3b+ with touchscreen) + Schiit Modi3E to a pair of Morel Hogtalare.

All absolute statements about audio are false :)

Let's see .. 5 DACs, 4 amps/integrated, 4 sets of speakers, assorted other stuff, lots of cables, and a half dozen software players. I've given plenty of gear to family but I never seem to sell anything. Crazy.

LOL! I know, it's crazy isn't it? I know I have sold three or four sets of speakers, usually at really good prices to audiophiles just dying to get into the game but who are pretty cash short. But the little devils seem to multiply like rabbits. Or like Apple ear buds... ;)

+1 On the family gifting!

4DACs, 1 ADC, finally down to 2 preamps but probably going to be 3 if I like the McIntosh D150/MCT450 I'm trying out in a couple weeks, 3 CD/SACD players, 2 amps, an A/V receiver or two, 3 sets of speaks, 2 turntables, a couple tapedecks, a MacMini server, 8 Linear PS, 3 power regenerators, 4 flat panels. Lost count on cables! Do we count aftermarket stereo in the vehicles?

I wonder if subscribers would be willing to participate in a test/swap list. I'd be willing to list stuff for qualified persons to try. Pay the shipping. Maybe you like it and want to buy it, maybe you try it a couple weeks and send it back. I'd love to try some of the DACs you guys have. I've got a couple things worth it and always extra cables.

What do you think?

I think that is one *excellent* idea, though you would need to clear it with Chris first of course.
