Mazza
4 minutes ago, Jeff_N said: Agree with Mazza, it would be nice to be able to edit metadata in the Conductor. Am I the only one who transfers albums from computer to Aurender, then sees the metadata's wrong, deletes the album from Aurender, corrects the metadata on the computer, then copies the album to the Aurender again? Seems crazy and I must be missing something. Heh Jef_N, have same workflow as you ..... music files get copied all over the place, so good point, the ACS10 not so useful in such situations. I have same issue as you, many albums meta-data files need to be altered to suit the Aurender and the alterations seem to be specific to the Aurender vs much more 'tolerant' other devices. Also, if the meta-data doesn't suit it sometimes won't show a track at all and with no warning either ...... HDtacks downloads seem to be one of the worse offenders. Ponzi
I welcome the ASC 10. I find the process of ripping CDs to a computer frustrating, time consuming, and the results hit-and-miss. This largely has to do with my comparative incompetence with all things computer. So maybe the ASC 10 is targeted to folks like me. I appreciate that $5,500 is a lot to spend to avoid compute hassles, but I am sorely tempted anyway. Will the ASC 10 also make digital downloads easier? Link to comment

jfddoc
I'm having trouble understanding whether the ASC-10 will make changing Metadata easier or harder. I have probably changed 20-25% of my Classical album covers to reflect the original LP cover art. Link to comment

panda123456
I have a N10 connecting to a devialet 220 pro via AES cable. I want to further improve SQ. I just come across a master clock called Grimm audio cc1, which provides reclocking for AES signal. Does anybody have experience on using AES signal reclocker with aurender N10 and does it makes sense to improve SQ? Thank. mjb
@panda123456 I honestly don’t think the effort will be rewarding with two already “top end” devices and a 2ft inter-connect, but I’m interested in you findings... panda123456 1 Link to comment

Unfortunately, the option to use relocker or reclocker is limited to roon compatible device, usually a combination of a NAS, SOtM, mutec then AES to Devialet but it involves too many connections and Roon is not a must for me. TotalDAC may be simpler but it seems Aurender is still the best of the market. I read a few early posts about the reclockers but after the hype early hype decided not to try it as some people were removing it after using it for awhile. Somethings seem to sound better at first and then after some use realize that things really sound different.. Better in some parts of the bandwidth and not as good in others. If you can get a full refund, try it. After decades of trying different tweaks, I am a firmly believer in keeping it as good as you can afford while keeping it simple. The best tweaks seem to be a great platform, and great footers, then the best cables and equipment that you can afford. If you can get a full refund, try it. I bought an Iso Regen reclocker with it’s upgraded power supply to use between my N10 and my Ayre QX-5 and PS Audio DirectStream DACs . I didn’t hear much, if any difference, and in retrospect should have returned it. After it had been installed in my setup for a period of time I was loosing interest in my system for some reason, but it didn’t dawn on me that the regen could have been the source of the problem. Finally when an audio buddy came over to listen to my system one day, he was less than thrilled of it’s sound after the ISO Regen was installed. He’s heard my system numerous times before, but told me that it wasn’t sounding it’s best on that day. After er he left, I tried a few changes, but not until I pulled the Regen out of my system, did I realize the great harm that it was doing. Why, wasn’t it more apparent to me? Even with my dissatisfaction with my rig, it took an outsider who knew my system to tell me that something amis. I guess that I was just getting used to the different sound that the reclocker imparted? With the Aurender N10 and a good DAC, I am now of the opinion that one needs to keep it as simple as possible unless one is dissatisfied with the sound. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. We all must be careful of stellar reviews of reclockers in systems which use less expensive DACs and general computers as a music server. in these situations, maybe a reclocker is the answer? Although just an educated guess, I believe that these reclockers work best in less expensive systems based on a general computer used as a music server. Just my 2 centsbased on my own experience with reclockers. OF course, YMMV. rwwjr44 and panda123456 2 Aurender N10 music server, Ayre QX-5 & PS Audio DirectStream DACs, PS Audio DMP transport, Ayre KX-R 20 preamp, Ayre MX-R 20mono blocks, Sonus Faber Stradivari speakers, Shunyata Denali 6000S v2/Typhon QR power distributor, Shunyata Research Sigma & Synergistic Research Galileo cables and power cords.
