If Aurender actually did get a waiver for certification from MQA, it seems to be the first or the first of a few. Looks like MQA may have acquiesced to pressure from manufacturers. This brings up the next question - can the filters be applied to MQA files or only to non-MQA files? biosailor
Sorry if this has been asked before, but has anyone combined theAurender N100H with the DirectStream Junior? I am asking since I am about to upgrade my DAC and one of the candidates I am following is PS Audio’s DirectStream Junior. Thanks for any input! Link to comment
edje
I updated my home network this weekend. Installed a security appliance (meraki MX64) between my LAN and the WAN router. After that I was unable to let the Ipad make a connection to the A10. The Aurender does get an IP adress, but the conductor app is not able to connect to it. I try to make a new connection to the IP adress which I read off the display of the A10. All the conductor app is replying is that it is not an Aurender. I can ping the aurender from the Ipad, everything else on the network is as before, except the connection between the Ipad and A10. After all I removed the Meraki from the network and created the situation as before, but still no connection with the message that the IP adress is not an Aurender. I also cannot see the Aurender when I make a network connection to the IP-adress from my laptop, but pinging is no problem. I also removed the conductor app and installed it fresh. Offcourse restarted the Aurender. It looks like the A10 is corrupted. Anyone experienced something like this? I already logged a call by Aurender, but probably someone recognises the problem. Booster MPS
Question for Aurender owners: On your initial load of music onto the hard drive, did you batch the files or send them all at one time? Did you get any copy errors in the process? Link to comment
jon2020
I did mine in batches. Didn't dare risk getting the whole collection stopped in its tracks by a power outage and starting all over again. No copy errors as none of the batch transfers were interrupted. biosailor
Has anyone observed the following issue with the Aurender Conductor app: from time to time when streaming from Qobuz (I have a Qobuz Hi-Fi Sublime+ subscription), the tracks are available, but the track's length is indicated with only 30-40 secs. I then go to 'Settings' and change the subscription to lower resolution, go back to the highest resolution subscription available, and this often, but not always, does the trick to stream the tracks in their original length. My iPad Conductor app is up to date and my iPad runs iOS 11.2.5 Link to comment
Ponzi
I just put this question to the larger group, but meant it for the Aurender thread. I have the N10. I cannot get my MAC to connect to the server. I am using the right IP address. My son did a hard shutdown several months ago, saying there was a virus on my computer. So now I cannot access the music 1 and 2 files. Nor the server. Do I need to delete the conductor app and start over, or what? The service folks at aurender have stopped responding to my emails. They have been very helpful in the past. I am assuming folks are ill or an vacation or something. Anyway, if you have a suggestion, I would appreciate it. Thank you. Link to comment

Ponzi
Yes. Many times. It gives me the same message. "The server may not exist or is unavailable at this time." Ponzi
My research indicates that the problem I am having is a MAC problem and has nothing to do with the N10. markrubin
just a thought Aurender is DHCP only: sometimes if the Aurender is off and another device is issued the Aurender IP, it creates a conflict, especially if you don't have a DHCP reservation set in your router I use FING (app on IOS or Android) to see every device on my network: you can easily see if there is a conflict or some other issue Link to comment

This demonstration will be hosted in the joint Merging Technologies/Terrason room 255 at the Norddeutscher Hi Fi Tage in Hamburg. This important event for Northern Germany takes place February 3 – 4 2018 at the Holiday Inn Hamburg Elbbrücken. This extremely significant move sees Aurender be the first to take advantage of the benefits that a RAVENNA network can bring to the home. Its flagship devices can now be part of a multi-room or multi-zone system without any of the traditional cable length limitations of USB connectivity. The network supports all file types and formats up to DSD256, although Aurender products do not yet support native DSD playback. The X100 features up to 12TB (depending on model) of internal storage with a 120GB solid-state drive; packing quite a punch for such a neat unit. NAS storage can also be included as part of the installation and the library can be conveniently controlled from a tablet running the Aurender Conductor App. This innovation will be commercially available within Q1 2018 and will be featured on the following Aurender products: A10, N10, N100 (N100C, N100H), X100L (X100S) and W20. “The launch of MERGING+NADAC in 2015 demonstrated the value of using RAVENNA in a home environment.”; remarked Merging’s Product Manager, Dominique Brulhart. “We are delighted to see Aurender becoming the first of many manufacturers that will be switching from USB to AoIP in the future, not only server/players but also DACs, thus offering a choice of high-end components. The combination with our products is an ideal solution for existing and future Aurender purchasers.” Room 255 will provide stunning audio quality by additionally featuring products from Merging Technologies, Vivid Audio and Mola Mola. Popular Post jon2020
After reading so many rave reviews of the N10, I pounced upon an opportunity to audition one at home over the weekend. I have been most eager to find out if the N10 is worth more than double the price of the N100H.I have found a way to simply describe digital performance in terms of quantity and quality of information conveyed - more bits filling in the sonic landscape, so to speak. Comparison is as always relative between the components. I have been using my N100H connected via an Oyaide silver USB cable from its USB output to the ifi USB 3.0 which separates power from audio via its own bihedral USB cable, and thence to the USB input of an Esoteric N-05 network player/dac.I first listened to the N10 without the USB 3.0 as this is the way it has been reviewed so favorably in the many publications to date. Without going into every parameter of SQ, all I can say is that the N10 is most certainly worth its weight in gold. There is much greater quantity and quality of digital information served in that one can clearly hear the extra bits filling in the spaces that now seemed missing from the N100H. Enough said. I next compared the USB and bnc spdif outputs of the N10 to the Esoteric dac inputs. As a caveat, the bnc cable at the dac end was fitted with an adapter as the input is non-bnc. The USB sounds much better than spdif, again more filled in with extra bits. This simply indicates that the USB implementation is superior to spdif for both server and dac, and should not be extrapolated to a more general conclusion that usb is superior to spdif. The last experiment would be to see whether the N10 can be improved any further by connecting it to the ifi USB 3.0. Well, the outcome is jaw-dropping to say the least - again, more bits filling in the sonic space, presenting a gestalt that is way more satisfying than the sum of its parts. As an aside, I recently compared the new Pass XP12 to my Ayre K-5xeMP preamp at home. The overall improvement wrought by the N10 alone far exceeds the improvement that the XP12 brought to the table. So preamp or server upgrade? - the choice is now clear. The nice thing about the N10 together with the iFi USB 3.0 is that they both bring out what I never thought could be possible from my current system. It is amazing that a server like the N10 can elevate the whole system by such leaps and bounds. Once in a while, one component comes along to show up how good all the others really are. J.
