Hey all- topic covered before but looking for new perspective… cabling from the N10 > DAC (Ayre qx5 twenty). Do you prefer balanced or unbalanced cables? I’m currently running AES but am thinking of switching to USB. thoughts? Thanks all

aes is superior in that setup, which is exactly what I have. I did many comparisons.

Hi @AriMargolis

I'm curious whether there is any way to "override" the name of the DAC connected with the unit?

I paired my N100H with Ayre QB9 Twenty before and the name was displayed perfectly.

Today, I changed (upgrade?) my DAC to Denafrips Terminator PLus, and the DAC is listed as "USB HiRes Audio". Audio files seemed to be played fine though.

Is there any way to manually change it to "Denafrips Terminator Plus"? I'm fine if I have to edit some config files.

Additionally, this DAC seems to be able to play up to DSD 1024 natively, but is it correct that the N100H can send only up to DSD 512 native? In the app, when I enabled Native DSD, it said it can go up to DSD 512, and the unit seems to play this file fine. However, is it normal to list as "Async 705.6 kHz" instead of "DSD512" when it played the file?

Thanks

@golfughits a bug in the current app version. Send a remote support email ticket and I can help you in advance of the software update if you’d like! That goes for anyone else experiencing this issue too, of course.

Thanks I’m on the road for a week and will contact y’all upon return.

Just moved to a new home in countryside gated community and beginning to set-up main system with N100H.

Problem: Router/Modem is NOT in same room as system so direct ethernet connection not an option

Purchased WiFi USB adapter:

 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08KHV7H1S/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Connected to N100H USB data port

Powered on N100H to home screen

Does not show in my "Settings/Connections" on Android or PC

Placed WiFiUSB Adapter next to my router - still not showing in available networks

Many networks show including my favorite "FreeVirus"

QUESTION: Do I need to do something to "activate" to get USB adapter to connect to my network?

Thanks for any help!

That device requires drivers on the Aurender. I would use something like this.

Any USB WiFi adapter using realtek RTL8192CU, RTL8812BU, RTL8812AU, and RTL8822BE chipsets are supported. Here are a few recommendations:

Plug it into an available USB port on your Aurender. Then, in your mobile device or tablet's settings menu, go to the WiFi settings and connect to the network that is named after your Aurender model. The password will be "aurender12345".

Note, this will not provide internet access...only control and connectivity with your iPad or Android. So, if you want access to streaming services and updates etc, Chris’s solution above is mo betta.

Thank you, Ari!

QUESTION: Any recommendation for the highest performing device from your list?

I purchased the "TP" USB adapter from Amazon and it has return privileges. thankfully!

***BTW, I remain very impressed with N100H (my first step in the streamer world). Based on earlier comments, the N200 would be the logical upgrade for a more neutral & source revealing transport/streamer - correct?

I don’t have direct experience with any of those, but if they work, they work. It’s just to establish a line of communication between the Aurender and your device running the Conductor app. I don’t think there’s really any working better or worse in this case. Some of them have a nice small form factor which won’t block the adjacent USB port, which is cool.

@AriMargolis

Thanks for the WiFi Adapter suggestions....

UPDATE:

Purchased, received & installed the first adapter on your list. Unfortunately it is not being recognized in my settings/networks available on my Android tablet.

I assume it should appear automatically without additional settings/adjustments?

As an aside, when the N100H is placed next to router and connected via ethernet, all's well.

At this point, unless there's a setting I'm missing, my last option is a WiFi extender with ethernet port.

All suggestions are most welcomed - thanks!

I ripped two CDs from that came in a double CD album.  They are the Schubert Trios collection.  The ASC10 read the metadata on the first CD incorrectly, thinking it was Schubert's symphonies.  I changed the album art but cannot figure how to get the Trois named correctly, rather than as movements to the Symphonies.  Any suggestions?

@Ponziyou should be able to edit the track names in the Smart Tag Editor utility of ACS Manager app.

@AriMargolis - Thank you Ari for your offer of assistance. I've already processed the USB adapter for return w/Amazon, ordered a WiFi Extender w/ethernet port....and a case of booze if it doesn't work. I'll keep you updated.
