Deadbeef - Lubuntu- Aiff files in Playlist -No Artist / Album info

I am hoping someone with some Deadbeef experience can help me out.

 

I am opening folders on my network connected drive and adding them to the playlist in Deadbeef. This is running under low memory version of Lubuntu with standard desktop. The folders load just fine but I get Unknown Artist and Unknown Album for each track even though the titles are coming over just fine.

 

I have not tried other file types to see if it is the same since my entire collection has been built around Mac for years, hence my preference for AIFF.

 

 

Since the tags work fine in Decibel on the Mac, I do not think it is damaged metadata. Can anyone shed any light on how to get this to work in Deadbeef? Many thanks.
