Chipless
I haven't had a chance to create one yet, but it's my understanding that Audiolense needs to create a .cfg file in order to tell the convolver how to properly work things to go to my 2.2 setup. Currently, I am using LiquidSonics Reverberate convolver within Audirvana, but I only see .wav files comprising its presets. Is it possible to load a .cfg file into Reverberate? If not, is there a convolver for Mac that will still allow me to utilize Audirvana for playback? Link to comment

The Jriver convolver uses the .cfg file Audiolense creates to properly map the channel to the correct outputs and tell Jriver convolver which filters to use with which sample rates on which channel. The choice whether to use a .cfg file to help properly configure the convolution engine to the playback format and DAC is totally up to the playback software. Audiolense auto generates these files for the convenience of the user. CFG files are NOT required and unfortunately NOT all software uses them. I know Jriver for MAC has a working convolution engine, although I had a few problems with switching sample rates. I'm not sure if those issues are related to my hardware or Jriver, since Matt was able to use my convolver files without issue. I don't know about the convolution engine Liquid Sonics uses. But I know that HQplayer does not make use of .cfg and can't do somethings for which the .cfg files are needed; eg. copying channel for setups with crossovers. I couldn't find any mention of .cfg file support for the liquid sonics convolver. It's pro audio, I think. So, it may not suit your needs as far as channel mapping. Chipless
Thanks Dallas. Your info lines up with everything else I've read. Basically, it sounds like I am going to have to make the switch to Jriver after all. I can't find any Audio Unit convolver plugins that support .cfg files. Hence, I won't be able to use Audirvana. If you do try out Jriver, let me know how it goes. I had a few issues with it on the Mac. Matt and I couldn't figure out what the real problem was. It could have been something to do with my hardware or jriver itself. But I had trouble switching from high sample rates to 44.1khz. I also had an issue with integer. I gave up on it since it wasn't that big of deal to me and I just wanted to play with Jriver Mac. I haven't gone back to it since then. I will have a new DAC/ADC soon with different ASIO drivers, so I may try it again to see whether it was the hardware causing the problem. THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX Link to comment
