WS 2012 Music Server

Hi Guys

 

I've notice quite a few people now touting WS 2012 as a great option for a music server, is this based on the architecture of the OS relating to processing, audio sub system? What if anything is seen as the advantages of it?

It's the OS that the audio optimiser by audioPhil runs on, I use them in core mode on my 2nd server (audio PC in a 2 server JPlay Xtream set up) and regard them as a pair. There is a thread here which is worth reading if you haven't already:

Been, there done that, boy what a PITA. Oppo 103 as a renderer using SMB access to Synology NAS has it beat for fidelity,and ease of use no tweaking, just simple out of the box standard setup functionality.
