500Homeruns
How would this work for a beginner who is getting in to computer audio? http://www.hp.com/hpinfo/newsroom/press_kits/2015/2015CES/StreamMiniDesktop.pdf $180 is great considering in comes installed with Windows 8.1 already. Isn't that $100 for the software alone? It would be used to run JRiver. Link to comment
shadowlight
Are you planning to play straight redbook / pcm with out any conversion? If yes, it might work other wise you are going to run out of resources. I would also have to say that you are going to need more than 2gb of memory for JRiver. Looking at the specs it will support up to 16gb Link to comment
realhifi
Great looking machine for that kind of money and expandable to 16GB memory. That along with a 2TB NAS drive old make for a great little music server system. David Link to comment
