Could someone comment regarding what level processor ( meaning no lags, delays, hiccoughs) and memory would be needed to guarantee good performance using jriver to play SACD ISO files and dsd files?

The PS have not changed, that is good; allows you to upgrade.

The base processor only has 3MB L3 Cache, so upgrading the processor gives you 4MB Cache. That would be better. Perhaps not as good as the late 2012 model with 6MB L3 Cache..

 

The drive may or may not support 2 drives, so as a server that may not be the best option? You do want the best SSD out there, in there.

 

Ifixit notes that latest model is more difficult to open. So may have some issues there.......
